KING ST KIDS Festival was created to connect the community of the King st Precinct in Brisbane through a celebration of youth talent and creativity.

After moving to the area with his 6-year-old son, Whelan, David saw an opportunity to create a platform for young performers, makers, and entrepreneurs to showcase their talents.

Now, almost 2 years on thanks to the support of Lendlease’s King St Community Grants Program, The Lord Mayor’s Community Fund, and backing from Cr Vicki Howard, the festival will debut on October 12, 2024, at Alexandria Park in Bowen Hills.

The festival includes performances from award-winning groups such as Elements Collective, Circa Academy, and young DJ talents like NOSARC, 12 yo DJ from Quivr DJ School. The Next Gen Markets will feature local youth artisans and entrepreneurs selling their creations.

With plans to grow in future years, the festival aims to become a key part of Brisbane's cultural landscape, highlighting emerging talent and fostering community connections.
